May Favourites

Would it really be a favourites post without a typical statement at the speed at which this year is going? Honestly, I cannot believe that it's the end of May already, it's gone by in such a flash and here we are half way through 2016. This month, my favourites are mostly beauty related. Having my birthday at the end of April and being treated to several makeup bits and pieces has meant that I've found new favourites and products I love over the last four weeks.

Currently Reading | Jenny Colgan

It's no secret that I love nothing more than curling up with a good book. I just love reading, I have done since I was little and it still remains a favourite pastime. After a friend asked some book recommendations, I thought I'd start up a little series of currently reading. Sharing recommendations and other bookish discussions.

The AM/PM Routine Tag

I read this on Sally's blog and had never heard of this tag before, but I really enjoyed reading it and the questions so thought I'd do it myself. I absolutely love having routines for pretty much the whole day, so these questions are perfect for me.

Yearly Goals Update

At the beginning of the year I set myself four goals, I don't really like the idea of resolutions as such. I feel like I never stick to them because they're too unspecific or I make far too many to be achievable.  I love the idea of having goals to aim for, and limiting myself to four that generally cover all aspects of my life and things I'm interested I hoped that I'd stick to them. So far I think I've done okay, so here's a little mid 2016 update.

Barely There Makeup Picks

Whether you're in a rush, it's a super hot day or you simply just want more of a natural look, barely there makeup is needed. I've been reaching for this look a lot recently with it being hotter and being on my summer break means that I've been spending more time relaxing and not want to spend too long doing my makeup in the mornings. A light, fresh base with natural defined brows and tinted lips is such an easy minimal makeup look that's ideal for this time of year.

2 Minute Chocolate Dessert

I've probably said it before, but to say that I have a sweet tooth is a bit of an understatement. Being dairy free really doesn't help when all I fancy is a chocolatey treat, so I've spent some time experimenting with recipes to find a dessert that ticks all the boxes. This chocolate dessert has become a favourite, it's so speedy to make, and it's dairy and gluten free too.

Dealing With Loss

I often talk about dealing with depression and anxiety, and my experiences with both of those mental illnesses. However I don't think I've ever spoken about the loss that tipped me over the edge, and how I've learnt to deal with loss in a much more effective way that's a lot less detrimental to my mental health.

Benefit Cheekathon Palette

I'm a sucker for palettes and pretty packaging, so when I saw that Benefit were releasing a cheek palette it went straight to the top of my wish list.

Current Skincare Routine

For me my skincare routine doesn't change up too often, I tend to use different products in the colder months when my skin is much drier compared to the warmer months, but generally my skin doesn't like too much change. My skin is combination, oily t-zone with normalish bits than can get really dry and dehydrated. My skin can also be quite sensitive to certain brands, which is another reason why I really like to just find products that I like and go back to them in the right season.

Beauty Haul and First Impressions

A couple of weeks ago myself and a group of friends had a bit of girl's day shopping. I picked up some beauty items that I knew I needed, as well as a little treat for myself too. I've been using all the products on pretty much a daily basis, so I'm adding in some first impressions too.

April Favourites

It's been said a lot, but I still can't believe that April is over. How is this year going so fast?! Anyway, I had a pretty good April, and I've been enjoying lots of things which I'm going to share; a mix of beauty, blogs and TV.

Testing Samples | Lancome Edition

With a recent purchase from Lancome, I was given a couple of samples from their new skincare range Energie de Vie. I've been using the products since then so I thought I'd share my thoughts on them, I've recently become hugely into skincare!!
