Fail Proof Cookie Recipe

Baking. One of the most therapeutic forms of cooking. There is something so satisfying about the fact that throwing some ingredients together then comes together to create something utterly delicious. This cookie recipe is my ultimate go to cookie recipe, it never fails and you can add whatever flavours you like.

  • 150g plain flour
  • 125g soft butter
  • 175g sugar
  • 75g rolled oats
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 175 -200g of extras like chocolate chips etc

It's pretty simple too;

  •  you first cream together the butter and sugar - I use electric beaters to speed up the process but it really doesn't matter
  • next beat in the vanilla and egg
  • add in the flour, oats, baking powder and salt and give it a good mix until everything all comes together in one sort of ball shape
  • finally you fold in whatever you want your cookies to have in, so chocolate chips or smarties or whatever you fancy
  • then into an oven pre-heated at around 170 degrees for about 15 minutes, give or take a few depending on golden you want them to be

Today I made two batches, one with cranberries (90g) and white chocolate chips (100g) and another with a little extra vanilla and raisins (slightly under 200g). I just used the extra ingredients that I had rather than sticking to a specific measurement, but you can be more precise if you like.

I hope you have a lovely day, and enjoy some cookies!!

Em x
