The Weekend Round Up #4

I haven't done a weekend round up post for a while, mainly because I've had very boring weekends with literally nothing happening. I'd be lying if I said that I'd done something exciting or noteworthy over the weekend, which is why this is an extremely short post, but I thought I'd tell you a bit about the book I'm reading at the moment. I've been reading the Call The Midwife book by Jennifer Worth, the memoirs that the television series is based upon, and I am seriously loving the book. I think it's the kind of book that makes you thing an awful lot about how much life, living conditions, and treatment of women has changed in more modern times. Even if you haven't ever watched the programs, I strongly recommend this book, although I haven't finished it yet I have the feeling that it's going to be one of the most influential books I've read. As much as I love reading stories about made up characters and made up situations, books that make me think are one of my favourites - I think that books really have a kind of power that can completely change a persons outlook on life and how they view the world around around them, which ultimately can make people feel they are overall better human beings. I'm not saying that this book will be a completely turning point in your life, but if you like the programs or you like books that make you think, then is is definitely a read for you.

I'll be back with another post later in the week, but until then I hope you all have a wonderful time

Em x
