Dull Skin Saviours

I absolutely love Autumn - the weather, the clothes, the colours. My skin however does not, and I find that disappointingly quickly I've gone from a healthy summery glow to just pale dull skin. For me, there's only so much concealer and an illuminating foundation can do, and turn to skincare to try and add a little something back into lacklustre skin. These products are items I've tried and tested, and for me they work wonders, however everyone's skin is going to have different 'tastes' and opinions. Hopefully they'll give you a few ideas on how to brighten up dull skin fast.

First up is the Garnier Dull Skin Revitalising Hydrating gel moisturiser. I got into gel formula moisturisers when I realised that my skin adores serums but then finds a creamy moisturiser too much and nothing else too little. A gel seemed to be the perfect solution, and this one even more so because it really does help to brighten my skin. Enriched with citrus extracts, it really helps to make you look fresh faced with brighter skin, plus it smells delicious!

Next is a little something for those pesky under eye circles; Yes To Grapefruit uneven skin tone Dark Circle Correcting eye cream. When squeezed out of the tube it looks a little bit like a concealer shade, and I must admit I was slightly worried that I was supposed to have picked out a skin tone shade. However when dabbed around the eye area there is a noticeable, at least I notice, difference. This hydrates the area and brightens and illuminates the dark eye area for a much more awake look.

This next product can be used alone as a moisturiser or mixed in with your base make up, however I like to smooth some on in between skincare and makeup which I find adds the most brightness without looking sweaty or an over the top attempt at trying to look alive. Soap and Glory Bright Here, Bright Now is a balm like consistency that adds the glow of an eight hour sleep that I can only dream of. This instantly makes my skin look refreshed and bright, and it shows through my makeup like a natural 'glow from within'. A real must have for me!

And finally is the Benefit That Gal brightening face primer. This is one of the first Benefit products I tried, after being convinced to have a little make over by a seriously convincing in store makeup artist around Christmas time. I purchased a couple of things, but not the primer, thinking I'd try and find a drugstore alternative. It was no use, nothing I tried was as good, as I caved and splashed the cash. I'm so pleased I did though. This pink primer manages to keep my makeup in place all day whilst looking fresh and bright at the same time. It's a beautiful consistency, smooths on beautifully and somehow does everything I love a primer to do - in one! A little more expensive than the other drugstore offerings, but so worth it.

So there you have it - the products that save my dull skin! Do you have any skin brightening recommendations?
