I finally caved and bought something from Mac. I'd often swatch nearly everything wishing I could justify a purchase, and finally I thought of a reason. Kind of. For a more every day look I like to use a powder foundation, I'm lucky in that I tend to have quite good skin, I just like to even out the skin tone and make it look more polished and refined. I'd been using one from Clinique for quite some time, and whilst I still absolutely adore it, I thought I'd give Mac studio fix powder a go.
Because I'd never purchased from Mac before, I had no idea where to even start to get the right shade. However the lovely lady from the counter was able to tell pretty much instantly and suggested NC15 which turns out to be a perfect match.
The powder itself is quite high coverage, which I love. Although I tend to wear powder foundation because I have good skin, I still like decent coverage for a more flawless look. I love the weightless feel of the powder, and also that it doesn't cake up at all which powder often has the tendency to do.
I used it with a revlon concealer and a Benefit primer and everything lasted the whole day without the need for touch ups, which in my eyes is such a bonus.
I highly recommend the studio fix powder and can tell that I'm going to be making many more Mac purchases in the future.
