Festive Reads | Blogmas

Lots of people are recommending their favourite Christmassy films to cuddle up under a blanket to watch, however I'm all about the books so here are two of my festive book recommendations.

The Magic of Christmas by Trisha Ashley

This is such a cosy, season read best enjoyed with hot drinks and blankets. Based around a village at Christmas and the community spirit, it kind of reminded me of the village I live in but with much more elaborate Christmas organisation. There's drama, sad bits, laugh out loud funny it, romance and friendship weaved through the story line, which for me is the perfect combination. It's very much an easy read, making it perfect for Christmas. It has more of a light Christmassy theme throughout, but it's a great book to read in the run up to Christmas to get you feeling festive.

Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle

If you like John Green's other books, you'll like this. The book is made up of three smaller stories all based on Christmas Eve and three love stories that unfold throughout the book. This is a warm, 'fluffy' love story that for me is perfect to just curl up and read when it's cold outside and you just want to escape. It also has a bit of a more alternative Christmassy theme, but still made me feel festive and ready for the Christmas festivities.

These little mini recommendation are short because I don't want to give too much away, both books are better not knowing too much to start with so I'll leave it at that.

What are you favourite books to get you in the festive mood?
