Festive Red Lip | Blogmas

It's hardly a secret that I love me a nude lip, however having recently branched out to bolder looks I thought I'd share my favourite red lip combination and make up look for the festive season.

When I'm wearing a red lip, I like to keep the rest of my makeup super simple to really offset that lipstick.

For a base I'll either use Benefit Hello Flawless foundation in Ivory I'm pure 4 sure or MAC Studio Fix powder plus foundation in NC15, with concealer of course to cover my dark under eye circles. I still love the combination of the Revlon ColorStay concealer and the Maybelline Eye Eraser for maximum coverage and brightening.

To add some colour to my face I've been loving the Sleek contour kit in light and the Rimmel Lasting Blush in pink rose. Whilst contouring doesn't really suit my face, the shade is perfect for adding some bronze glow and dimension, with the blusher and highlighter adding some soft colour to my cheeks.

Keeping with the simple theme on the eyes, I go for my normal brow routine using my all time favourite hi impact brow palette before adding some subtle definition to my eye lids. I use the Maybelline the Nudes eye shadow palette; taking the third colour on the top row all over the lid, with the second colour on the top row in the outer corner and blended into the crease. Finishing with the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara.

Which leads me on to the main event, the lips. I always use a lip balm before I apply my make up so my lips a soft and ready for lipstick, which is essential with bolder and brighter colours. I love the Blistex Raspberry Lemonade Blast balm because it softens my lips nicely and isn't glossy. For the red colour I firstly line my lips with the MAC Cherry lipliner and fill them slightly but not fully before finishing off the Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick in Gabrielle. It's such a beautiful combination; the colours match perfectly and together last for quite some time. I'm really getting into the red lipstick, and I think it suits me so I'll definitely be wearing this look over the festive season.

What's your favourite red lip for the festive season?
