Salon Science Hydrasorb Intensive Masque Review

My scalp can get incredibly dry, flaky and itchy, and as it gets worse with hot or cold weather, it's horrible. Not only is it irritating for me, but it's also often visible around my hairline which is so embarrassing. Products like Head and Shoulders just made things worse, and so I made it my mission to find a mask that's hydrating and focused on the scalp - and now I've found one I love it!

Salon Science is a brand I haven't really heard much about, and to be honest I tried the mask out when it was on offer at the beginning of the year in Boots. Salon Science is a haircare brand that uses science in it's products to specifically target issues. I have the Hydrasorb Intensive masque which is just amazing, and really does help my scalp.

As you can see the mask is really thick, and smells beautiful. It's a really light, clean and fresh scent, which I love. It's recommended to apply this to damp hair after shampooing and then wait 10 minutes before washing off and following up with conditioner. However, I found that it was a little tricky to get a really good application with wet hair, not to mention that 10 minutes of waiting in the shower seemed to take forever! The first time I use it I followed the instructions, and found that it wasn't as hydrating as I thought it would be. I know it was only the first use, but because of the feedback online I thought that I'd notice the difference.

I now apply this the dry hair and wait the same amount of time and find it to be so much more effective. I use it once or twice a week, depending on how my hair is that week but before I use it I can always see horrible dry patches, which after use are instantly hydrated. I also find that using the mask on dry hair means I can get a better application, really covering all of my scalp thoroughly.

Not only does this help with the visible dryness, but also the itchiness too. My scalp just feels moisturised, calm and ready to face the weather after I use it.

If you're looking for a hair mask for your scalp, I highly recommend this one, and I'm looking forward to trying some of their other products too.

Have you tried anything from Salon Science?

Em x
