The AM/PM Routine Tag

I read this on Sally's blog and had never heard of this tag before, but I really enjoyed reading it and the questions so thought I'd do it myself. I absolutely love having routines for pretty much the whole day, so these questions are perfect for me.

AM

What is your morning beauty routine?

I like using a refreshing cleaner in the morning to really wake my skin up, Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit wash is perfect for that. The gel cleanser foams up really nicely and has a lovely citrusy scent perfect for waking up to and leaving your skin nicely refreshed. I've also been loving Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel, it's perfect for keeping combination and oily skin hydrated whilst not being too heavy and greasy.

What's for breakfast?

I'm a creature of habit and don't tend to change up my breakfast too much, but I do have a little variety. I mostly have cereal with fruit and Alpro coconut milk, usually weetabix or shreddies, although sometimes I'll have wholemeal toast with honey and fruit salad.

Tea or Coffee?

I like both, however tea just has the edge for me. I prefer sweeter coffees and so I mostly stick to tea which I have plain, however I don't really drink hot drinks in the morning. I'll just have a glass of water and then have a hot drink later on in the day.

How long does it take you to get out of the door?

It depends on what time I wake up! I like to allow myself plenty of time because I hate rushing and I don't like to skip a step of my routine. I can be ready in half an hour or over an hour, it all depends on what I'm doing that day.

What is your go to makeup look on a fuss-free morning?

A decent but neutral base, I've been reaching for the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue a lot recently for a dewy base that's light yet somewhat perfecting. Brows are an essential to me, I always do something with my brows, be that using my Sleek kit or just running through them with a bit of brow gel. Mascara makes me look so much more awake, and a slick of a light tint of colour helps to make me look put together.

PM

What is your evening beauty routine?

I find that using an oil based cleanser removes my makeup so much better. I love both the L'Oreal oil and The Body Shop camomile butter to gently break down all my makeup and ready for a double cleanse using the same wash as in the morning. My favourite night cream is the Garnier Moisture + Restore, as it's a thick gel cream formula that melts into the skin and leaves my skin feeling beautifully hydrated and plump come morning.

Snack time! What's in the bowl?

Caramel snack a jacks are far too tasty for their own good! I love pairing them with banana for a dairy free banoffe crunch snack that's deliciously sweet. If I'm after more of a pudding after my meal, I've been seriously loving making this easy peasy chocolate dessert with berries and choc shot. It's honestly the perfect evening treat.

How do you wind down and prep for bed?

This is when I like to do my evening beauty routine, to really relax me and get me feeling ready for bed. I also like to write in my journal, and plan for the following day. Sometimes I'll have a mug of mint tea if I want a comforting drink that's relaxing and calms me before bed.

Cosy Up! What are you wearing to sleep?

Either an oversized t-shirt or some cute pjs. So long as I'm comfy I'm not too bothered. Although I don't sleep it in, my fluffy and cosy dressing gown from Primark is a must for cosying up in the evenings with.

What are some things you must do before hitting the hay?

It's so bad, but I'm sure many of us are guilty of this, but I just have to check my phone. Be that messages, twitter, instagram, snapchat. I have to know what's happening in the world before I go to bed. I also like to read before going to sleep, this really helps to unwind and I find that I sleep better if I've been reading. Although if the book is too good I sometimes am guilty of staying up too late to finish it. Oops.

Let me know if you do this tag yourself, I'd love to read your answers and have a peek into your routines.
