Wedding Guest GRWM

Wedding season is upon us, and I for one one a wedding. I went to a wedding at the weekend so I thought I'd share my makeup, hair and outfit with you all. As always I went for something pretty simple with my makeup, a fairly neutral base with neutral defined eyes and a nude lip, and with my hair too. I'm a creature of habit, what can I say! But my outfit was something that once upon I time I wouldn't have worn at all, so I guess you could say that's where I made the change from my usual. I think a bit more neutral and classic makeup is always the way to go with makeup/hair/outfits for weddings, as you don't want to look back on photos wishing you'd gone for something that stands the test of time better.

Base

I started off with the Benefit Porefessional Matte Rescue gel primer. Obviously for a wedding you're going to want your makeup to last all day, and this primer not only smooths over my skin and pores for a more flawless base for foundation, but it keeps oil at bay and makes my makeup last much longer. For foundation I used my favourite which is the Max Factor FaceFinity foundation in light ivory. It's a perfect shade match for me, and blends seamlessly into the skin without looking at all cakey. Although the foundation is meant to be a 3 in 1 with concealer mixed into the formulation, I still like to go in with the Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer in 01 under my eyes. This covers any dark circles and adds a touch of brightness under my eyes, which is seriously needed to counteract any shadows from the frames of a glasses. I then set all of that with the bareMinerals Mineral Veil translucent powder for a non cakey matte and long lasting finish.

Cheeks

I've been loving using my Benefit Cheekathon palette ever since I got it, so naturally I used Hoola for a bronzey/contour hybrid to add some warmth and definition to my face. For my blush and a bit of glow to the skin I went in with Rockateur. I had forgotten to pack my highlighter when going to my boyfriends the night before, but this rosy gold blush adds just the right amount of glow to the skin whilst adding a beautiful rosy flush which I love.

Brows and Eyes

I recently got my brows threaded and tinted so I didn't really need to do anything to my brows. I simply set them into place using the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in medium/dark, I love using this as it adds a bit of colour and thickness as well as keeping my brow hairs in place all day. For my eye makeup I used the Clinique Pretty Easy eye palette, which is simply stunning. I packed the shade number 2 all over the lid, really focusing on the inner corner to add some brightness. I then used the shade number 3 in the outer corner and crease of my lid, before using a clean blending brush to blend it out seamlessly. The palette comes with two mini skinny stick eyeliners, so I used a bit of the brown one, slim sable, along my upper lashes. I then patted a bit of shade 4 from the palette over the top to add a subtle smokiness and further definition to my eyes. I finished off with lashings of Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara.

Lips

I made sure that when I started doing my makeup I put a bit of lip balm on to make sure my lips were soft, smooth and ready for lipstick. I used a favourite lipstick at the moment which is bareMinerals Marvellous Moxie lipstick in Take Charge, which is a beautiful browny/pinky/neutral nude shade that fitted with the look perfectly.

Hair

I wanted to do some kinda of fancyish updo, but my hair is notoriously annoying and wouldn't co-operate at all, so I just left it loose and tied up the front section, pulling a few strands here and there out for a softer look.

Outfit

For my outfit I paired this beautiful pale blush pink pleated midi skirt from New Look with a plain black tee from Primark. The skirt had a black elasticated waistband, and so the black top worked really well, as as it was much more fitted that the skirt, it seemed to work well too. I went for some black sandals that I got a couple of years ago from Dorothy Perkins, black shoes worked much better with the pale floaty skirt in my opinion, and a pale blush pink bag that I got last year for another wedding, although I can't remember where I got it from. I stuck with simply silver jewellery, wearing a silver necklace and bracelet that were actually gifts, and a Pandora April birthstone ring. They all coordinated really well with each other, and I think the dainty jewellery went really well with the pretty floaty skirt.
