Christmas Day Make Up | Blogmas

For Christmas Day I want my makeup to be easy and quick, but still look very pretty and easy to maintain throughout the day. For this reason a golden eye and nude lip is the look I've gone for. Bold lips are pretty and I love them at this time of year, but eating, drinking and kiss people thank you on the cheek means something simple is going to be much easier to keep up without going patchy.

To prime my skin after skincare I've been loving using the Rimmel Fix and Perfect primer, it keeps my make up in place and makes my skin appear much smoother before applying foundation. For my base I'm using the Benefit Hello Flawless foundation in Ivory I'm pure 4 sure. It's medium coverage and still adds a beautiful glow to the skin. For concealer I'm using my favourite combination which is the Revlon ColorStay concealer in light and the Maybelline Eraser Eye in light to add some extra brightness under my eyes. To set all of that I'm using the Bourjois Healthy Balance powder in vanilla because it mattifies but still keeps a bit of natural glow to the skin which I love. Plus I know I can top this up during the day without my make up going cakey. To add some colour back into my face I'm going to be using the Sleek Contour kit in light and the Rimmel Lasting Finish blush in pink rose. Both of these work really well on my pale skin, and add the perfect amount of colour, glow and highlight.

Moving on to eyes, I firstly prime my lids with the Revlon Photoready eye primer and brightener. This keeps my eyeshadows in place for ages, covers any blueness on my lids and brightens them up nicely. I then do my brows which is super quick as I had them tinted and shaped the other day, so all that is needed is a little bit of the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in medium/dark to set them in place. For my eyeshadow I'm going to be using the Maybelline The Nudes palette, taking the light gold colour all over the lids before adding a little of the darker gold to the outer corners and crease before adding a little more depth with a golden brown lightly over the top and blended into my outer lash line. I'll then use the highlight from the Sleek contour kit to highlight my brow bone and inner corners before applying lashings of the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. I like to keep my bottom lashes free from any make up, however some of the darker brown/gold colour would look nice smudge across the lower lashes with mascara.

Finally for lips I'm going to use the Lancome Juicy Tube in Dot Apricot. I love these lip glosses, and this apricotty colour is the perfect peachy nude gloss that's not sticky, easy to maintain and let's the eye makeup really stand out. I believe this has been discontinued sadly, as I can't find a link to buy this anywhere, and any where that does sell them don't have this shade at all.

So that's my nude lip Christmas makeup that I'll be wearing on Christmas Day. If you prefer a bolder lip look I have my festive red lip make up here.

What's your go to Christmas Day make up?

Em x
