May Favourites

Would it really be a favourites post without a typical statement at the speed at which this year is going? Honestly, I cannot believe that it's the end of May already, it's gone by in such a flash and here we are half way through 2016. This month, my favourites are mostly beauty related. Having my birthday at the end of April and being treated to several makeup bits and pieces has meant that I've found new favourites and products I love over the last four weeks.

Firstly a cheek palette that I've absolutely raved about. Benefit Cheekathon palette is a blush palette of dreams, containing five pull sized pans of blush and bronzing powders I have used this everyday since I got it. I've been really enjoying using hoola bronzer, which works much better for my pale skin than I was expecting, and dandelion blush for an every day light flush of colour.

For lips I have two favourites, both easy to wear and both beautiful. First up is bareMinerals Marvellous Moxie lipstick in Take Charge. This lipstick was actually used when I got my makeup done at the bareMinerals counter for my birthday. It's such a beautiful pinky/brown nude shade that's ideal for everyday wear or keeping things simple paired with a bold eye makeup. Not to mention the creamy formula is so comfortable to wear. I sometimes find lipstick a little drying, but I think it must be down to formula, because this feels so comfortable and balm like whilst still having a full colour payoff and almost satin like finish.

Next in the lip department is the Lancome Juicy Shaker in Vanilla Pop. I've written about this a couple of times on the blog, but I seriously do love it and it's fast become a go to lip product. The innovative cushioned applicator makes applying the product a breeze and the shade is my perfect just better than my lips shade whilst adding a touch of colour and gloss which wears down into a beautiful tint over time.

Since my exams are over and I've finished uni for the summer, I've been loving getting back into reading much more. Whilst I was still reading at night, for me there is nothing better than spending the day in the sun with a good book, or curled under several blankets. My favourite author is Jenny Colgan, and her books are ideal for getting lost in, but I've also thoroughly enjoyed The School Run by Nicola May which made me completely laugh out loud and kept me company on ill days.

What have been your May favourites?
