August Loves

Okay seriously, where has August gone?! We're zipping through 2016, although not going to lie I'm looking forward to August being over. It's a bit of a stand still month; everything and everyone seems to slow down in August. I much prefer September and being able to feel I can start again, not to mention it's closer to Autumn. I have to say I was also a bit on the go slow this month, meaning I don't really have too many things to talk about, but here are the few bits and bobs I've been loving in August.

First up is the Olympics. Now I did not expect to get so involved and enjoy the Olympics as much as I did. As bad as it sounds, I can often find the run up a drags a bit and I think I'm not really interested in sport. But I've been obsessed with it, especially the gymnastics. How do they even do all those twists and jumps without breaking something?!

Much to my shock, for the past few months, I've been seriously loving glossy lips. Having previously thought all glosses were sticky and gloppy, I've found myself experimenting and loving them. In August I've worn NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu nearly every day. It's the most beautiful pinky/nude shade and is ideal for just throwing on on a daily basis. I absolutely love the formula of the Butter Glosses, they're so light that your lips don't stick together which I hate and you get a pretty decent colour pay off too, I'll be sure to try more soon.

I've talked about trying to really improve my social media this summer, and whilst I've just been mostly at home this August I've been making a real effort. In the process, I've been obsessed with using Snapchat! I love how you can create a space for 'behind the scenes' blog things for followers, plus I've been seriously into watching other bloggers too. You can follow me at emily_kiddy - be sure to leave your usernames in the comments so I can follow you!

Another new beauty product I've been loving is Benefit's Ka-Brow cream gel brow colour. I've written a full review here, but I've just been so in love with this. It's the perfect consistency to fill in your brows really nicely, but you're still able to keep a natural look or build it up if you prefer. Not to mention it's smudge proof, and this really isn't budging which is great for hotter days.

Finally going back to an old favourite, I've rekindled my love for my Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Peach Lights. I often like to go for a liquid highlighter in the summer months, but I've been reaching for this powder nearly every day in August and I just love how it looks on the skin. It's a lovely pinky/peach highlighter, which works beautifully on my pale skin and adds the perfect glow to my cheekbones.
